Cassiel Ato Baah Forson revealed a seven-point strategic plan through his position as Finance Minister of Ghana to revitalize the economic development of the nation.
The government officials revealed their determination to implement forceful economic reforms through this announcement at the National Economic Dialogue (NED) 2025 opening in Accra.
The two-day National Economic Dialogue “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together” convenes numerous stakeholders with membership from government officials, policymakers, business leaders, parliamentarians, diplomats, development partners, financial representatives civil society organizations and academics and community members.
The main goal is to reveal Ghana’s economic status alongside developing local budget management strategies and identifying essential economic developments which reset the economy.
The dialogue investigates four main topics:
- The government aims to drive economic transformation through DEPTH which stands for Growth with Diversification, Export Competitiveness, Productivity, Technology and Human Well-being (DEPTH) to establish inclusive sustainable economic development.
- Private Sector-led Growth: Unlocking the Full Potential of Businesses
- Infrastructure Development: Addressing the Deficit for Economic Transformation
- Structural and Policy Reforms: Strengthening Key Sectors for Growth
- Good Governance, Accountability, and Anti-Corruption Measures
Dr. Forson revealed that the government stands prepared to shift the economy toward sustainable development with inclusive growth.
Dr. Forson emphasised the necessity of creating extensive policies together with institutional reforms which would boost productivity levels while improving infrastructure standards and developing workforce abilities and human capital potential. The planned reforms show promising potential to change Ghana through one generation until 2050 by making per capita income grow threefold.
Through the National Economic Dialogue stakeholders can evaluate Ghana’s economic situation and solve important challenges to develop a flourishing economy for every citizen.
The government stresses that actual results depend entirely on widespread national support through active involvement from all Ghanaians as it pushes toward non-partisan interests in economic development.
The National Economic Dialogue promotes collective work that seeks to reposition Ghana toward enduring economic success where every citizen experiences beneficial growth.
