Jose Peseiro, Super Eagles coach said his players are determined to knock out the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in their face-off on Wednesday.
He reacted to questions being asked of him on the South African and Mamelodi Sundown’s magnificent shot-stopper, Ronwen Williams, by saying he and his team are not bothered about the goalkeeper.
Ronwen Williams became the first goalie to save four penalties in a Cup of Nations penalty shootout as he helped his team get past Cape Verde to the semi-final.
Peseiro said his team want to qualify for the 2023 AFCON final whichever way; be it during 90 minutes, 120 minutes or via penalty shootout.
He also said that they have to be well-focused and show character against the South Africans.
No. I think about the opponent. We observe the opponent, we want to beat them in the 90 minutes, 120 minutes or penalties. We have to prepare the team well to be focused and show a good mentality. Our players deserve to reach the final but we need to beat South Africa in a hard match.”
