“I Campaigned and Got Nothing” — this blunt declaration came from veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Odua, known as Lalude, during a fiery interview.
He expressed deep disappointment after canvassing for President Tinubu and Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu for nearly two months.
Lalude said he and fellow actor Alapini were promised rewards by MC Oluomo, the Lagos APC mobiliser. They were assured they could ask for anything.
But when the election was won, he received “not a dime.”
He stated angrily, “If I should place a curse on them, it will follow them throughout life.”
He recounts that the campaign offered 10,000 ₦ daily initially, but it stopped abruptly. MC Oluomo’s promises vanished too.
Lalude said their efforts—months of sweat and energy—were ignored by the APC once their votes were secured. This betrayal stung deeply.
His public outburst has stirred conversations online.
Many sympathise with artists who expect recognition.
