Give Me my funeral money, says Ghanaian highlife legend Kaakyire Kwame Appiah.

On a daring interview at a radio show, he requested his family and supporters to give him donations when he is still alive instead of waiting until his funeral.

Kaakyire wondered why human beings take time to express their love when the person is already dead.

He reasoned that when individuals seek assistance when they are still alive, they tend to be given excuses rather than the help.

“So now I am alive, give me the money you will give me when I die”, he begged.
‘ I may apply it to make my life better today”

He emphasized that this would be more effective than funeral donations.

His quote sparked discussions on social networks.

His ability to criticize the conventional ways and promote the idea of practical assistance was appreciated by many.

The others said that funerals are a cultural approach of appreciating the dead.

The message Kaakyire is trying to convey can be interpreted as the need to praise and appreciate people in the time they still can.

His cry compels fans to reconsider the ways of expressing love and respect.
