Ghanaian artist Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh, known professionally as Kofi Jamar, has criticized the music label system for exploiting and then discarding artists like him.
He revealed he felt overlooked and abandoned after his viral hit “Ekorso” faded from the spotlight.
On his X, Jamar recounted how media houses and radio stations relentlessly pursued him during his peak but became unreachable once his track lost momentum.
“I joined the label not to sign my life away,” he expressed—highlighting that artists should not lose control of their careers to fickle industry forces.
Jamar lamented that without a current chart-topping single, he now struggles to secure interviews or features.
“This industry uses you, then dumps you,” he reflected, warning that aspiring musicians must protect themselves from exploitation.
