Award-winning Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has addressed the long-running rift within the defunct music group Plantashun Boiz, clarifying that fellow band member Faze is not involved in his ongoing feud with Blackface.

The clarification was made during his performance at the Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, where the singer paused mid-set to speak directly to fans.

2Baba told the crowd that while his differences with Blackface remain unresolved, Faze has consistently stayed neutral and maintained a cordial relationship with him.

He stressed that Faze’s appearance on stage was not a statement about the feud but a celebration of the legacy of Plantashun Boiz, one of Nigeria’s most influential music groups of the early 2000s.

Explaining the group’s history, 2Baba reminded fans that Plantashun Boiz originally comprised Blackface, himself, and Faze, before internal disagreements led to their split.

He noted that Blackface’s absence from the performance was due to personal issues between them, not an attempt to exclude him from the group’s history.

“No matter the beef wey me and Blackface get, nothing concerns Faze inside,” 2Baba said, drawing cheers from the audience.

He added that Faze was on stage to help represent the group and honour its musical contributions, despite the unresolved conflict with Blackface.

The singer’s remarks appeared aimed at dispelling speculation that Faze had taken sides in the long-standing dispute, which has played out publicly over the years through interviews and social media exchanges.

Fans at the festival responded warmly, applauding the moment as Faze joined 2Baba on stage.

Online, reactions to the clarification were largely positive, with many fans praising Faze’s neutrality and professionalism.

Some also expressed renewed hope that the rift between 2Baba and Blackface could eventually be resolved in the interest of unity and nostalgia.

Plantashun Boiz, formed in the late 1990s, remains a defining chapter in Nigerian pop music, producing several hit songs and launching the successful solo careers of its members.

While a full reunion remains uncertain, 2Baba’s comments in Makurdi underscored the enduring impact of the group and the complex relationships that continue to shape its legacy.
