The “Garri and Water” hitmaker reposted a video of Pastor Ibukun Awosika discussing parenting, highlighting the idea that children from affluent families should not have their ambitions limited by their parents’ success.

In response on her Instagram story, Tiwa explained that she has been making a conscious effort to apply this principle with Jamil.

She revealed that her son must earn certain privileges at home and that she deliberately withholds some comforts, such as specific seats when they travel together.

Tiwa added that if Jamil wants to purchase games like Roblox, he has to earn the money by completing chores and maintaining good grades.

She also shared that he is restricted from using his iPad, consuming snacks and candy during the week, and must engage in nightly Bible study before bedtime.

Additionally, she mentioned that unless they are traveling on a private jet, Jamil is required to sit in economy class.

The singer noted that her son occasionally complains about the rules, citing neck and leg discomfort, even though his legs do not reach the floor.

The post drew mixed reactions from fans.

Some criticized her approach, referencing her past viral explicit tape and questioning her parenting methods.

Others argued that children should complete chores as a responsibility rather than receiving payment.
