Fans of Nigerian music superstar Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, have expressed anger after spotting photos of Seun Kuti and his associate, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman.
The images come weeks after Seun Kuti and Verydarkman had a public dispute with Wizkid, criticizing him for what they described as a lack of respect toward Fela Kuti, Seun’s late father.
The feud quickly gained widespread attention, drawing commentary from several celebrities as the trio traded words online.
In the circulating photos, Seun Kuti and Verydarkman were captured at the gravesite of the legendary Afrobeat musician.
In one shot, Seun is seen pouring libation while both he and Verydarkman knelt by Fela’s grave.
Other images show the pair shirtless, kneeling, while goats and rams brought for a ritual are held by men nearby.
Another picture captures them in a similar shirtless pose, hands raised in a gesture reminiscent of Fela Kuti’s signature style.
The visuals have sparked strong reactions among Wizkid’s followers. Many expressed concern for the singer’s safety, while some suggested that Verydarkman’s earlier criticism of Wizkid might have been premeditated, pointing to the photos as supporting evidence.
Debate also arose over the appropriateness of pouring libation or performing rituals at Fela’s grave, with some fans mocking Seun Kuti and Verydarkman and speculating that the duo might eventually disclose the true motives behind their clash with Wizkid.
