John Mahama is set to be inaugurated as the 14th President of Ghana today, Jan 7.2025 at Independence Square in Accra after coming victorious in the recent presidential election.
Mahama, who was previously Ghana’s President between July 2012 and January 2017 is set to make his return and unsit current President Nana Akufo-Addo.
His return has given supporters, especially the youth, hope on the recent economic situations and crisis within the country.
During his campaign, Mahama pledged to stop the economic decline and restore inclusive growth by abolishing the e-levy and reducing government size in order to ease tax burdens facing different households.
John Mahama who will be inaugurated for the third time today, defeated Mahamadu Bawumia in the recent presidential election held on December 7,2024, securing a total vote of 6,328,397 votes while Bawumia accumulated a total of 4,657,304 votes.
