Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has issued a stern warning to media personnel, cautioning against defamatory remarks and emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism.

Addressing recent criticisms, Okraku stated, “If I am not a thief and you call me a thief, we will have problems,” highlighting the personal and professional harm caused by false allegations.

Okraku’s remarks come amid increasing scrutiny of his leadership since assuming the GFA presidency in October 2019.

As a former sports journalist and executive chairman of Dreams FC, he has been instrumental in implementing reforms within Ghanaian football.

The GFA President’s warning underscores the need for media practitioners to adhere to ethical standards, ensuring that criticisms are grounded in fact and constructive discourse.

Okraku emphasized that while he welcomes accountability, it must be pursued without resorting to misinformation or personal attacks.
