Marcus Rashford may turn out to be the surprise signing of the summer.

The 27-year-old is said to be a pressing target of Aston Villa after a frustrating period in the new regime at United, with a loan deal expected to include a buy-out option of 40m.

Rashford lost his favour in a game of tactics and off-field problems when he was once a regular at United. He has shown an upturn in Villa, where he has doubled his chance creation and shot and dribbled more since signing on loan

Villa manager Unai Emery believes that Rashford has physicality and pace that would thrive in their system. The loan deal is a low risk opportunity of revival with an experienced striker, who has not been consistent.

United appear to be receptive to the transfer with Rashford bloating the wage bill in his garden. In the meantime, there are fans who think that the set up of Villa would bring back the fire that United failed to ignite.

Is Rashford going to find his best form in claret and blue again? This risky move could prove to be a success or a failure again, but the upcoming season of the Premier League could be the deciding factor.
