She remembered how she was evicted in the night, and nobody cared to look into the allegation, or hear her story.

The accusation, which was not true, she said, had brought open old wounds of her sufferings in the past. According to Mabel, she has always felt misunderstood and this event revived painful memories.

She said, “I was innocent but was treated as a criminal.”

” I was really hurt and yet I did not lose my faith.”

In spite of the trauma, Mabel states that it has made her stronger.

She encouraged event organisers and people to not jump into conclusions and to respect artists.

Her narrative has resonated with a lot of people on the web with fans and other gospel artists coming to her defense and demanding more equitable treatment in the industry.

Mabel Okyere has been using her platform to inspire with her music as well as her story, giving a reminder to others that even when the clouds are dark, strength does come.
