Ghanaian relationship coach Counsellor George Lutterodt has sparked outrage again.

In a TV interview, he dismissed boyfriend-girlfriend relationships as meaningless and degrading. According to him, only legal marriage deserves public recognition.

He stated bluntly that any woman confidently calling herself someone’s girlfriend is “a very stupid woman.” Lutterodt added that only husbands should be publicly advertised, not boyfriends or baby daddies

He argued that acknowledging a man who hasn’t married you gives him unearned status and encourages emotional abuse. “We don’t advertise boyfriends. We only acknowledge legally married men as husbands,” he insisted.

This “marriage only counts” message is consistent with Lutterodt’s past controversial statements. He once described dating reality shows like Date Rush as modern-day prostitution and said unmarried women must work harder to be “marketable.”

Though critics label him misogynistic, his comments often spark debate in relationship circles.
Many women online have challenged his views as outdated and disrespectful.
