Nigerian Immigration Seizes Senator Natasha’s Passport At Airport As Lawmaker Accuses Senate President Akpabio
The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered Nigerian immigration officers to seize her international passport at the airport, preventing her from travelling abroad.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, the lawmaker was seen questioning immigration officials at the airport over the alleged confiscation of her passport.
She described the action as an unlawful restriction of her movement and a gross violation of her fundamental rights.
“Hello, fellow Nigerians.
I’m Senator Natasha. Having completed my second year in office, I decided to take a week off.
I’m at the airport here, and my passport has been withheld again,” she said in the video.

“They are just cleaning it up now because since the time the President sent it to the Senate, some people on that list have died, and some have retired and are no longer eligible for appointment.
Some of them have less than one year left in service,” the official explained.

United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, has accused former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, of complicity in the killings of Christians in Nigeria.
He made the remark after Kwankwaso reacted to the United States government’s plan to carry out a military operation in Nigeria.
Governor – do you care to comment on your own complicity in the death of Christians?” Moore wrote on social media.
“You instituted Sharia law. You signed the law that makes so-called blasphemy punishable by death,” he added.
Kwankwaso had earlier issued a statement in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments on Nigeria.
The former Kano governor signed Sharia law in November, 2000.

Speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti on Monday, the former governor said the PDP no longer had a viable structure in the state.

The naira traded around ₦1,444 to the US dollar in Nigeria’s official Daily Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, while the parallel (black) market quoted the greenback at about ₦1,435–₦1,450.
These rates reflect a largely stable session after recent policy moves by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).NFEM (official VWAP): ₦1,444 per US$1.
The NFEM rate (the volume-weighted average price published by the CBN) is the official market benchmark for corporate and wholesale FX transactions in Nigeria.
Retail cash traders and individuals who buy dollars on the street use the parallel market, where rates typically trade at a premium to the NFEM.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday took a swipe at the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum.
Wike described him as a “tax collector” who lacked the discipline and integrity to lead the opposition party.
Speaking on a Television programme ‘Politics Today’, monitored by our correspondent in Abuja.
Wike alleged that Damagum was never in control of his legal affairs when the party faced internal court battles, claiming that he personally intervened to stabilise the PDP leadership during that period.
He said:
“Damagum does not even know who his lawyer was when we went to court. That was how we were able to stabilize and keep Damagun”.
The FCT minister also accused Damagum of being driven solely by financial interests, describing him as someone who prioritizes money over loyalty or principle.
