Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has initiated a defamation and libel lawsuit against filmmaker and blogger Stanley Ontop, signaling a legal clash between the two entertainment personalities.
Leonard shared the news on Instagram, posting screenshots of the court documents to inform his followers.
The lawsuit alleges that Stanley Ontop has been damaging Leonard’s reputation for over two years through repeated defamatory statements without justification.
The filing claims that these statements included baseless accusations that harmed Leonard’s credibility and led to notable financial losses.
In his Instagram post, Leonard emphasized that accusations must be backed by evidence and made it clear that he intends to pursue the matter fully in court, warning that the legal action would not be limited to a single individual.
The allegations reportedly involve the circulation of false information about Leonard, which allegedly affected his professional opportunities and income.
Stanley Ontop, however, appeared unbothered by the lawsuit.
He responded shortly after the news surfaced, dismissing the claims and expressing readiness to face Leonard in court.
Ontop also mentioned that he was awaiting an official police summons and confirmed his willingness to engage with the legal process.
In his words:
“Film rod too mumu. See y’all in court! Ogun wan kill you? Na, ur pelnise you suppose petition, not Stanley Ontop.
Ezi Ofia, I am waiting for the police invitation. Ontop no small.
“Film rod ur papa left yash Atulu muru ebunu. Keep ur Dickson one place to avoid being dragged. Ndi Ala Ndi Ala”.
