Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has responded to reports suggesting that prominent figures in the country’s music industry have allegedly blacklisted him.

Influencer Tunde Perry recently stirred conversation after disclosing that he attended a meeting where top music executives reportedly decided to blacklist Portable due to his controversial behavior.

According to Perry, Portable’s actions in the industry not only landed him on the bad side of key industry players but also made it harder for emerging artists to receive support from established performers and executives.

Perry further revealed that veteran rapper and music mogul Olamide has grown cautious about mentoring new talent because of his past experience with Portable, who allegedly turned against him after receiving assistance on his hit track, “Zazu.”

In response via a video message, Portable lashed out at Tunde Perry, Olamide, and the executives purportedly involved in blacklisting him.

He confidently stated that he does not require backing from any industry executive to thrive, emphasizing that his fan base alone is sufficient.

The “Zazu” singer also asserted that he currently holds more influence in the music scene than the promoters and artists who are said to have attempted to sideline him.

Portable said,

“I am bigger than them. Who are those who want to blacklist?

I heard that Tunde Perry said Olamide and his circle of music executives called for me to be blacklisted.

Are you guys, my fans or my God? Are you feeding me?“

I have my own fans. I am bigger than any f**king person. Anyone who wants to help you, won’t stress you.

Don’t use the assistance you gave me in the past to stress me.

Are you the only one who has ever assisted me?“

There are a lot of people who helped me without stressing me. Why would you say they shouldn’t play my songs again?

Olamide, don’t mess with me. If you mess with me, I will return the energy. Stay on your own lane.”
