Liberia’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has introduced new vehicles and motorcycles to enhance employee transportation.
The initiative aims to improve mobility and operational efficiency across the country.
New Vehicles for EPA Operations
The EPA has acquired several vehicles to address transportation challenges faced by its staff.
These include:
- Two buses for staff transportation
- One Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Team
- One Toyota Prado Jeep for the Deputy Director
- One additional Land Cruiser Jeep (pending delivery)
The EPA emphasized that these vehicles will ensure employees can reach project sites efficiently.
They also aim to improve response times for environmental assessments and monitoring.
Motorcycle Donations for Field Operations
To support field officers in remote areas, the EPA has received several motorcycle donations:
- Five Yamaha motorcycles from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI) through the Liberia Investment and Finance Trade Project (LIFT-P)
- Two motorcycles from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for EPA offices in River Gee and Grand Kru counties
These motorcycles will allow EPA staff to access hard-to-reach areas for environmental inspections.
They also support the agency’s efforts to monitor pollution and enforce regulations in rural communities.
Transport Policy Implementation
The EPA has introduced a transport policy to manage the use of these new assets.
This investment in transportation reflects the EPA’s commitment to improving employee welfare and strengthening environmental protection efforts in Liberia.
