Following Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Rwanda in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday in Kigali, Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance.

He emphasized the need for further improvement ahead of their next match against Zimbabwe.

Chelle acknowledged the difficulty of the game, praising Rwanda as a strong side led by a competent coach.

He commended his players for their efforts, stating, “I am so happy and proud of my players, my guys, and the Nigerian people.”

The coach emphasized that the team dedicated many days to video analysis followed by two training sessions during the past week.

The coach observed that Rwanda got only one scoring chance during the first half but Nigeria kept possession of the ball better throughout the second half when they used two to three different formations.

According to Chelle the victory only counts as one game while the team maintains multiple points which need further improvement.

Super Eagles will play against Zimbabwe at Uyo while maintaining their World Cup qualifying campaign schedule.

The World Cup qualifying stage drives Chelle to seek performance improvements for the Nigerian team.

Through continuous development the coach implements a strategic system to maintain Super Eagles’ competitive level during international matches.

Fans together with analysts will closely observe Nigeria’s upcoming competition to monitor how the team elevates their recent victories and tackles their recognized weak points.

By evaluating the team’s strengths in addition to its weaknesses Chelle adopts a fair assessment approach to maximize current advantages as the team works on improving areas for development.

This mental approach stands vital for the Super Eagles since they work to ensure World Cup qualification for 2026.

The match against Zimbabwe represents a chance for Nigeria to show development and flexibility as elements that can determine their World Cup qualification path.

Fans will observe how the team implements Chelle’s enhancement call and what changes appear during matches.

During their World Cup qualification campaign the Super Eagles will prioritize both steady performance and strategic planning.
