Airtel Uganda’s new 4G mast in Rwemikoma boosts digital access, job creation, and community ties in rural Uganda.
Airtel Uganda has officially launched a new 4G mast in Rwemikoma, Kazo District, as part of its ongoing commitment to digital inclusion and nationwide connectivity.
This initiative, stemming from a 2019 promise to enhance 4G coverage across the country, aims to provide faster internet, clearer voice calls, and improved access to digital services like mobile money.
Wanjala Isaiah, Trade Marketing Manager – Growth Markets at Airtel Uganda, emphasized the company’s dedication to its customers:
“The community is at the heart of our success. That’s why we’re here on the ground—to connect with you directly and build a relationship that benefits us all.”
The new infrastructure is expected to not only improve communication but also open up financial and employment opportunities for the local population.
Community leaders, including Sam Rwakajara, Chairman LC3 of Rwemikoma, lauded Airtel’s efforts:
“Airtel has created many job opportunities and extended valuable financial services to our people.
I want to sincerely thank the Airtel team for the service they continue to provide. It is my honor to officially launch this new site today.”
The launch event also served as a platform to remind customers about digital safety, urging them to remain vigilant and never share their mobile money PINs, regardless of who calls.
This development marks another milestone in Airtel Uganda’s mission to bridge the digital divide, empower rural communities, and foster stronger partnerships on the ground.
