The Federal Government has withdrawn all criminal complaints against Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in a recent unruly incident aboard an Ibom Air flight, following her display of “great remorse” during a legally guided police interview
Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo disclosed the resolution after extensive consultations with aviation stakeholders, airlines, and those directly involved.
He confirmed that Ibom Air agreed to withdraw the case, and the lifetime flight ban imposed on Emmanson has been overturned by the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON).
In a related development courtsey of Keyamo, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reduced the indefinite flight ban on Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1) to just one month. His criminal complaint has also been officially withdrawn.
Furthermore, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) plans to collaborate with KWAM 1, potentially appointing him as an airport security ambassador to promote proper protocol and decorum.
These decisions reflect a tone of compassion and rehabilitation, rather than punishment.
Keyamo emphasized that while safety and security remain paramount, these actions are designed to draw a line after the disciplinary measures due to public remorse and stakeholder appeals.
