Artists quit early: Skales tells musicians to persevere, sharing how his hit “Shake Body” gained global traction years after release.

Popular Nigerian singer Skales has shared some hard-earned wisdom with aspiring musicians, urging them not to give up too soon in their careers.

In a motivational post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Skales remarked, “Your music will take you places all over the globe. You just need to be consistent enough to see it happen. Most artists quit before the blessings show up. Keep going.”

Skales’ words reflect his personal experience in the ever-competitive Nigerian music industry.

Despite releasing his hit track “Shake Body” in 2014, the song recently found new life on TikTok, thanks to Spanish footballer Lamine Yamal, who helped it trend globally over a decade later.

His message emphasizes a valuable truth for creatives: success may not be immediate, but perseverance pays off.

The revival of “Shake Body” is proof that old work can find new relevance, especially in the age of digital virality.

Skales’ journey serves as inspiration for younger artists battling doubt or slow recognition.

By continuing to create and believe in their craft, musicians stand a better chance of reaching international acclaim—even if it takes years.
