Senior pastor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, Chris Okafor, has condemned what he described as cyberbullying and called for stricter regulation of Nigeria’s internet space.

Speaking at a news conference in Lagos on Thursday, Okafor expressed his displeasure with bloggers and online influencers, many of whom he said spread false stories without evidence or hearing his side.

“It is so sad that most of the so-called influencers we have often connived with people to come up with fabulous lies to attract traffic to their blogs.

Many Nigerians have suffered and are still suffering from the lies of bloggers and most often, they get away with it after destroying the image of their targets,” Okafor said.

The pastor referenced accusations made against him in November 2025 by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, including claims of a long-term affair, murder, and burying a head at his altar.

Okafor explained that most bloggers failed to verify the allegations before reporting them.

He further explained that his ex-wife and daughter had approached a blogger requesting N80 million for school fees and upkeep abroad, despite past divorce proceedings in 2014 awarding him custody of the children.

“If, as a pastor, I can survive these lies, what happens to an average Nigerian?

In the 55 years of my existence on earth, I have never been arrested for any crime or offence.

It is so sad how far people can go to destroy,” Okafor added.

Okafor called on the National Assembly to legislate cyberspace regulation and urged cyber police to trace offenders.

He reassured members and Nigerians that truth will eventually prevail and that offenders would not go unpunished.
