Social Media Critic Verydarkman has continued his criticism of Afrobeats star Wizkid, accusing the singer of repeatedly downplaying the legacy of music legends and senior figures in the industry.

In a fresh outburst, Verydarkman argued that Wizkid has not made enough societal contributions to place himself above iconic figures like Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

He claimed that Wizkid’s recent comments comparing himself to Fela were poorly timed and showed a failure to understand public sentiment, especially as they allegedly encouraged fans to disrespect Fela’s legacy.

Verydarkman further alleged that Wizkid has a pattern of undermining those who came before him in the music industry.

To support his claim, he referenced past online interactions involving Don Jazzy, suggesting that Wizkid subtly dismissed the Mavin Records boss by amplifying comments that reduced him to an “influencer.”

According to Verydarkman, such actions reflect a recurring attitude rather than an isolated incident, insisting that Wizkid should show more respect to industry pioneers and legends whose impact extends beyond music into culture and society.

He said in part …

“Wizkid is not even greater than me talk less of Fela. He’s not.

Contribution to the society? Get out, he’s not. A lot of them can’t even lace my boots.

He started a pattern, and after testing the waters he decided to try again.

That is why he decided to do this one that he is doing to Fela.

The sad part is that Wizkid did not read the room before he decided to do this thing to Fela by instigating his followers to insult Fela Kuti’s name.

What is this pattern? Wizkid likes to downplay the legacy of the people before him.

I’ll give you an example: Don Jazzy. Wizkid say e no fit talk to person wey dey signed to an influencer.

Then another person now ask, shay na Don Jazzy you dey talk to? And Wizkid reposted it.

Then another person said Don Jazzy na influencer na, and Wizkid reposted it.”

“Wizkid didn't read the room. Wizkid has a pattern, he always tries to downgrade the legacy of people before him, he did same thing with Don Jazzy”
