Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has opened up about how he copes with challenging moments and the people he turns to for support during difficult times.

Speaking in an interview with Dear Ife, the movie star disclosed that his wife is usually the first person that comes to mind whenever he feels overwhelmed.

However, he said he tries not to burden her frequently, noting that she already has her own professional commitments while also managing family and household responsibilities.

According to Okanlawon, there are occasions when the pressure becomes too much to handle alone, prompting him to wake his wife in the middle of the night so they can talk and she can offer him comfort.

The actor further explained that he does not rely solely on his spouse for emotional support.

He revealed that he has intentionally built a strong support network made up of a therapist, mentors, and trusted friends who provide guidance and encouragement whenever needed.

Okanlawon stressed the importance of men seeking help instead of carrying every burden by themselves, adding that trying to handle life’s challenges alone can eventually become overwhelming.

His words…“When the thing is just too hard, there’s my wife. She’s not the first because she’s dealing with her own business and raising the family.

But when it’s hitting me too hard, I’ll wake her in the middle of the night and tell her to help me.”

“My job is to protect the people around me. If gbege happens here now, the chances are I’m going to step in front. It’s what needs to happen. There’s no excuse, You also have to be aware enough to find healing”.
