Nollywood star actress Iheme Nancy has publicly aligned herself with former Labour Party presidential hopeful Peter Obi, promising to actively campaign for him without pay.
In an Instagram post, the actress acknowledged that she typically shies away from political commentary. However, her stance changed after observing the opposition Obi faces.
“I don’t usually do this, but I am going to campaign for Peter OBI anytime any day… if there’s any place I need to register for his campaign, please involve me cause I will do it for free—for my unborn children, for my family, for my generation,” she declared.
Nancy believes the volume of criticism Obi attracts serves as validation of his positive influence:
“Why the HATE???? That means he’s doing something right…”

Her declaration of support aligns with a growing movement of public figures throwing their weight behind Obi’s vision ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also touching on national unity, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, another prominent Obi ally, recently urged that the Southeast zone deserves a chance to lead Nigeria in upcoming elections—emphasizing fairness and regional balance
Nancy’s uncommissioned pledge adds star power to Obi’s political circle, which could help mobilize broader youth and entertainment industry support.
As the next presidential race looms, endorsements like Nancy’s could bolster Obi’s credibility and visibility.
While Nancy is not entering politics herself, her bold offer signals growing goodwill for Peter Obi’s cause. Her willingness to campaign publicly—“for my generation”—echoes the sentiments of many Nigerians seeking fresh leadership.
