BBNaija star Phyna has publicly corrected the Dangote Group after the company shared a photo of its representatives and a man labelled as the husband of her injured sister, Ruth Otabor.
Reacting to the post, Phyna wrote:
“For the record, my sister is not married.”

The controversy began after Dangote Group issued a statement on 14 August 2025, promising full medical support and compensation for Ruth, who lost a leg in a fatal road accident caused by one of the company’s trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
The accompanying photo showed company officials standing alongside a man identified as Mr Otabor (centre), husband of the victim.

Phyna, however, clarified that the man Mr Otaboris a family member, but not the victim’s spouse. She called on the public and media outlets to stop misrepresenting her sister’s personal life while the family is still dealing with a traumatic experience.
The initial accident has already sparked nationwide outrage, with activist VeryDarkMan and actress Kate Henshaw condemning what they described as long-standing negligence by the company’s drivers.
While Dangote Group has pledged support, critics argue that transparency is also crucial as the family seeks justice.
