A video showing life inside Charterhouse Lagos, one of Nigeria’s most expensive private schools, has gone viral online after a student shared his daily experience in school.

The clip has triggered widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians reacting to the school’s luxury facilities and high tuition fees.

In the trending video, the student, whose identity was not disclosed, gave viewers a glimpse into his life as a boarding student.

He explained that his day began with a visit to the school’s medical centre after feeling unwell before proceeding to his physics class.

He later joined classmates for a test on static electricity in the physics laboratory, showing parts of the school’s academic environment.

Throughout the video, the student showcased several facilities within the school, including well-equipped classrooms, science laboratories, and other modern learning spaces.

The visuals highlighted the institution’s advanced infrastructure compared to many schools across the country.

The video also drew attention to the school’s tuition structure, which has been widely circulated online.

Reports indicate that students in lower classes reportedly pay up to ₦23 million annually, while senior secondary students may pay as much as ₦35 million per year.

Additional costs such as application fees, reportedly around ₦2 million, and boarding fees running into millions annually have also been mentioned online, contributing to the online discussion.

The viral clip has sparked mixed reactions, with many social media users expressing admiration for the school’s facilities and premium learning environment.

Others, however, used the moment to highlight the sharp inequality in Nigeria’s education system, comparing elite private schools with public schools struggling with limited resources.

Charterhouse Lagos, which began operations in September 2024, offers both day and boarding education for primary and secondary students.

The institution is part of the global Charterhouse school network, known for its British-style curriculum and elite academic standards.
