Senegal prepares a digital training platform for civil servants, enhancing e-governance skills as part of its “Digital Senegal 2025” strategy.
Senegal is developing an innovative digital training platform designed specifically for civil servants, aiming to bridge the technology gap in public administration.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Public Service in collaboration with Extensia Tech, will provide courses in AI, data analytics, and e-governance tools.
The platform’s curriculum focuses on practical skills like:
- Automated document processing
- Cybersecurity best practices
- Cloud-based public service delivery
Phase one rollout begins next month with 5,000 employees from key ministries.
Full national implementation is scheduled for early 2026, coinciding with Senegal’s “Digital Teranga” infrastructure expansion.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye emphasized that “digitizing human capital is as vital as fiber optic cables” during the project announcement.
The €12 million initiative is partially funded by the World Bank’s Digital Economy for Africa program.
Analysts note the training could reduce bureaucratic delays by 30% and position Senegal as West Africa’s next tech talent hub.
