TGMA outfit rules must be tightened, says Nana Romeo, warning of increasing nudity at Ghana’s top music awards event.

TGMA outfit rules are under scrutiny after media personality Nana Romeo raised concerns about extreme fashion at the recent awards show.

Speaking on Accra FM, Romeo criticized some celebrities’ outfits, which he claimed were overly revealing and inappropriate for a national music event.

Romeo expressed worry that if no action is taken, celebrities might soon attend in only underwear.

He urged event organizer Charterhouse to introduce stricter dress guidelines to preserve public decency and respect for Ghanaian cultural values.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), formerly Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, is Ghana’s biggest music celebration.

It often features glamorous and bold fashion.

However, this year’s edition sparked online backlash over some attendees’ outfits. Images of see-through, skin-baring dresses went viral, triggering both praise and outrage.

Nana Romeo said Ghana should not copy blindly from Western entertainment trends.

He emphasized that red carpets can still showcase creativity and style without promoting indecency.

He asked Charterhouse to step in with a proper code that balances freedom of expression with public sensibilities.

This is not the first time the TGMA red carpet has attracted controversy.

In previous years, fans and critics have debated the line between bold fashion and public indecency.

Romeo’s comments add momentum to the growing conversation about media ethics, entertainment branding, and local cultural expectations.

TGMA organizers have not yet responded to the concerns.

However, as fashion continues to be a core part of the music industry, how Charterhouse manages these calls for dress regulation could shape future editions of the event.

The debate over TGMA outfit rules reflects wider tensions between cultural pride, creative freedom, and global entertainment influences in Ghana’s vibrant showbiz scene.
