British Airways scandal unfolds as crew member reportedly high on drugs is caught dancing naked in-flight from San Francisco to London.
British Airways scandal deepened this week after a crew member was discovered dancing naked in a lavatory during a transatlantic flight, in what colleagues believe was a drug-fueled incident.
The mid-air drama unfolded on Sunday, May 25, 2025, on a British Airways flight from San Francisco to London Heathrow. Passengers in the Club World (business class) cabin were stunned when service was disrupted, and cabin crew members began searching for a missing colleague.
They eventually found the male crew member completely unclothed and behaving erratically in one of the business class bathrooms. He was reportedly “out of his mind on drugs,” according to eyewitnesses.
Fellow staff dressed him in First Class pyjamas and relocated him to the front cabin for the remainder of the 10.5-hour flight.
“The whole crew was shocked,” said a source familiar with the incident.
“This is someone trusted to care for passengers at 40,000 feet, and he was high, naked and incoherent.”
Upon landing at Heathrow, police met the flight and arrested the individual. He was also given medical assistance at the airport.
British Airways confirmed the crew member has been suspended and is now the subject of a police investigation.
“This is a serious matter that we are fully supporting the police with,” a spokesperson for British Airways stated.
“We expect the highest standards of behaviour from our staff at all times.”
The incident left the rest of the crew overstretched and forced to complete the flight without taking their scheduled breaks.
Passengers in Club World reportedly received delayed or reduced service as a result.
British Airways has not released the name of the employee involved, and the airline has yet to confirm whether drug testing was carried out.
However, it stated that further disciplinary action could follow the outcome of the police inquiry.
The case raises fresh concerns about airline crew conduct and in-flight safety procedures.
Aviation authorities are expected to monitor developments closely.
