Nigerian gospel singer Gaise Baba has shared a deeply personal testimony about his 15-year struggle with pornography addiction during a recent church program in Lagos.

The 32-year-old worship leader, known for hits like “No turning back,” revealed his addiction began at just 13 years old when a school friend introduced him to pornographic content on a mobile phone.

Gaise described how what started as adolescent curiosity spiraled into a secret addiction that persisted even as he rose to prominence in the gospel music scene.

“I would lock myself in bathrooms during concert breaks to satisfy the craving,” he confessed.

The addiction nearly destroyed his marriage when his wife discovered his struggle in 2022, leading to an 18-month rehabilitation program through his church.

Christian counselors have praised Gaise’s vulnerability in sharing his story.

Recent surveys by faith-based organization Integrity Group reveal alarming statistics, with 68% of Christian youths in Nigeria first exposed to pornographic content before age 15.

The singer has since channeled his experience into helping others, establishing support groups that incorporate music therapy as part of the recovery process.

His forthcoming album “Clean Hands” documents his journey from shame to redemption through faith.

Gaise’s testimony has ignited important conversations within Nigeria’s Christian community about improving sex education in religious households.

He hopes it will encourage others struggling with similar addictions to seek help without fear of judgment.

“NO TURNING BACK!”

Just five years ago, after 13 years professionally as a singer and 3 years after he got a word from God, Gaise Baba wanted to quit music. He went to his mentor and said, “I can’t do this anymore like this; I am going to get a corporate job.” pic.twitter.com/gKjCbrE6Zt
