The Dangote Group has officially reacted to the recent road accident in Auchi, Edo State, involving one of its trucks which left Ruth Otabor, the younger sister of BBNaija star Phynacritically injured.
In a statement dated 14th August 2025 and signed by the company’s management, the organisation confirmed that senior officials and insurance representatives had already visited both the crash scene and the victim at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State.
“We are ensuring full support for Mrs Otabor, including comprehensive medical care and appropriate compensation, in line with Dangote Group’s welfare policy,” the statement emphasised.
The company also said it has been working closely with law enforcement authorities to establish full details of the incident and reiterated its commitment to the well-being of those affected.

The response follows rising public anger over what many described as a pattern of reckless driving involving trucks belonging to the conglomerate.
Activist VeryDarkMan had earlier called out billionaire Aliko Dangote directly, accusing the company of endangering lives through negligence.
Several celebrities, including Kate Henshaw, also demanded justice on behalf of the victim.
Phyna revealed that her sister, a recent graduate, has already lost one leg and may lose the second if urgent specialist care isn’t provided.
While Dangote Group’s statement expresses sympathy and promises support, many Nigerians are still watching closely to see if the company’s actions will match its words — and whether this tragic accident will finally trigger stronger safety measures for its fleet.
