Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has stirred public debate after issuing strict instructions on how he should be buried when he dies.

Fayose, who turned 65 on Friday, declared that upon his death, his body “belongs to the Ekiti State Government” and must be buried within four weeks.

He added that the ceremony should be supervised solely by the state authorities and his children.

‘Allow me to rest,’ ex-governor says“when I die, my body belongs to Ekiti State Govt and I must be buried within four weeks.

My children must follow the Govt of Ekiti during the burial.

I made a garden in my grandmother’s home where I should be laid to rest and after that, nobody must come there again. Allow me to rest.”

However, his brother, Isaac Fayose, released a sharply worded birthday message accusing the ex-governor of selfishness and betrayal.

In his post, Isaac described Fayose as “the most selfish brother anyone can wish for,” adding that he hoped the former governor’s new age would bring a change of character.

“You’ve betrayed everyone that has been there for you… I pray the spirit of selfishness in you will disappear and you can finally be a good man,” Isaac said.
