Niger’s Prime Minister and OIC Delegation Discuss Strengthening Education and Health Collaboration

Prime Minister Ali Mahamn Lamine Zeine of Niger held a meeting with OIC Assistant Secretary-General Aftab Ahmad Khokher to develop better collaboration between Niger and the Organization in higher education and healthcare particularly through Niamey's Islamic University.

Prime Minister Ali Mahamn Lamine Zeine conducted important talks with an Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) delegation at Niamey on February 14th 2025 to improve Niger’s educational system and healthcare delivery.

The scientific branch of the OIC brought their delegation to Niamey under the leadership of its Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Aftab Ahmad Khokher.

The event in Niamey worked to improve collaboration between Niger and the OIC particularly between their higher education and health departments. The Islamic University based in Niamey served as the primary subject when discussing how it advances educational possibilities throughout Niger.

OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha sent greetings through Ambassador Khokher who also praised Niger for its essential support for the OIC mission and vision.

The diplomat stressed that OIC member states must enhance their joint efforts in education along with science and technology and health and water and climate change initiatives. He emphasized that member states of the OIC provide scholarship programs to expand educational opportunities for Nigerian students.
