Women’s rights priority is essential for achieving sustainable development.

ActionAid demanded that governments from every level establish critical programs and policies to support women’s rights.

International Women’s Day speaker Andrew Mamedu from ActionAid Nigeria pointed out that financial support for women leads to higher national advancement.

The leader requested gender-responsive policies to provide women with financial access and land ownership rights and suitable employment possibilities.

Mamedu emphasized that economic progress depends on women’s rights prioritization because it is both ethically required and financially essential.

He emphasized that women strongly support Nigeria’s economic growth yet experience institutional prejudice throughout the nation.

The phrase for this year’s International Women’s Day reflects an immediate requirement to invest in women because it speeds up social advancement.

Mamedu noted that women currently face obstacles when pursuing leadership positions and obtaining governance roles and economic opportunities.

Recent events underscore these challenges. The political career of Mojisola Meranda ended with her resignation from the Lagos House of Assembly Speakership position.

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan also encountered sexual harassment accusations at the center of gender challenges in leadership.

Mamedu demanded federal and state authorities implement legislation that protects women against gender-based violence.

He stressed that justice systems require efficient legal proceedings to help survivors and destroy obstacles blocking justice.

He demanded that governmental leadership structures need an entire transformation to achieve gender equality in governance.

Workplace harassment, together with abuse and exploitation, needs to be included in institutional reforms, according to his words.

Global initiatives to promote gender equality match exactly with this call for action.

The Beijing Conference on Women established its historical plan to advance women’s rights during 1995.

The targets established at the Beijing Conference experience incomplete achievement because of political obstacles alongside social hurdles.

Women throughout the world maintain their commitment to defend gender equality despite numerous obstacles.

Advocacy groups insist that women’s rights must receive priority status for a society to develop into both a fair and just framework.

Government institutions need to work immediately to establish lasting gender equality progress.
