Hiroshi Tai, a 23-year-old golfer from Georgia Tech, makes history as the first Singaporean to play in The Masters, highlighting his ties to Augusta National’s legacy.

Hiroshi Tai, a 23-year-old golfer born in Hong Kong, has made history by becoming the first Singaporean to compete in The Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club.

Tai secured his Masters participation by taking the victory at the NCAA collegiate championship for Georgia Tech which was founded by Bobby Jones who also played for the university.

Tai reflected positively about his first Augusta experience after he got there.

The strong ties between Georgia Tech and the Masters are evident because Bobby Jones established the tournament while playing for the university and completing his studies there.

The university maintains deep links with Masters history because of its connections to Bobby Jones who was both a graduate and co-founder of Augusta National.

This experience has brought me an amazing feeling.
