Zambia’s broadcasting regulator emphasizes the ethical use of artificial intelligence in media, highlighting the importance of data privacy and accurate information dissemination.

Zambia’s broadcasting regulator calls for ethical use of artificial intelligence, emphasizing the need for media outlets to maintain professional standards in the deployment of AI technologies.


The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) pointed out that Artificial Intelligence holds potential benefits for broadcasting innovation yet presents two main risks including false information spread and content tampering.


Director General Susan Ndumingu declared that broadcasting licensees need to implement data protection as they verify the accurate transmission of all news information.
