Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has fiercely responded to critics implying her curves result from Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), asking: “Before BBL, did Africans not have natural shapes like mine?”

She posted the defiant message alongside throwback photos of curvy African women from the 1950s.

Wendy shay’s clapback comes after months of social media speculation about cosmetic enhancements.

Fans have rallied with #MyAfricanShape, sharing unedited photos celebrating diverse African body types.

Wendy Shay’s stance mirrors recent moves by stars like Cardi B and Beyoncé to credit Black women’s natural curves. “I’ll never apologize for how God made me,” she declared during her “ShayGang” concert last weekend.

So y’all want to tell me before BBL Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine ? Whats with this BBL tag… Is it because I have gained at the right places ? Y’all should get a life and stop being naive. What you are seeing is 100% natural and it is not my fault y’all didn’t… pic.twitter.com/jhHpSYBe4T
