Margaret Mwachanya, former IEBC commissioner, shares her experience of being conned out of KSh6 million by a fake herbalist who exploited her personal struggles.
Margaret Mwachanya, a former commissioner of Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has come forward with a cautionary tale about falling victim to a fraudulent herbalist.
In a detailed account, Mwachanya revealed that she lost KSh6 million to an individual who claimed to possess spiritual powers capable of resolving her personal issues.
The ordeal began when Mwachanya sought assistance for undisclosed personal challenges.
She was introduced to a man who presented himself as a herbalist with the ability to perform rituals that would alleviate her problems.
Trusting his assurances, Mwachanya participated in various ceremonies, including lighting candles and other ritualistic practices, over an extended period.
Throughout this time, she made multiple payments totaling KSh6 million, believing that these contributions were necessary for the success of the rituals.
However, as time passed without any tangible results, Mwachanya grew suspicious of the herbalist’s intentions.
Upon confronting him, she realized that she had been deceived.
Mwachanya’s experience underscores the vulnerabilities individuals may face when seeking solutions to personal problems and the lengths to which con artists will go to exploit such situations.
Her decision to share her story serves as a warning to others to exercise caution and due diligence when approached by individuals offering unconventional remedies or solutions.
