Speaking on Joy Prime’s Changes, Richie revealed that many people insulted his mum for allowing him to follow his passion. They felt he was too intelligent to waste his academic talents on music.

After high school, Richie paused plans for further studies and spent the year building a home studio. That decision proved his commitment to music and eventually reassured his family.

Richie said people urged his mother to force him into medicine. However, she stood by his choice. Today, he leads one of Ghana’s top record labels and has helped launch stars like Kuami Eugene and KiDi.

Career path change was a major risk, but Richie believes it was worth it. His story highlights the pressure young people face when making unconventional career choices, and the importance of family support.

His experience encourages creatives to stay focused, even when others doubt them.
