The streets of Ghana are being renovated as 200 new waste-management trucks are being introduced by Zoomlion in the country.
The increased fleet is part of the strategy adopted by Zoomlion to increase refuse collection in cities, towns, and rural areas. The trucks are fitted with the current compacting mechanisms to maximise efficiency.
This installation follows previous equipment provision, such as skip-trucks, tricycles, and containers, already revolutionizing waste management in Kumasi and Accra
According to officials, the 200 new additions will decentralise their operations to enable quick response in hard-to-reach zones. This is done to decrease overflowing trash cans and the littered streets through increased daily waste collection.
Job creation is also the target of the initiative. Zoomlion has played an important role in employment in the Ghana waste sector with more than 200,000 jobs created since 2006
The new growth will bring in additional direct and indirect opportunities.
The move has been hailed by municipal leaders and environmental health officers. According to them, the more equipped fleets are, the cleaner the communities and the less risks to health.
Through this mass implementation, Zoomlion strengthens its dominance in the Ghanaian sanitation industry. The new trucks will be a significant step towards healthier and more sustainable urban life.
With Zoomlion still training employees and investing in facilities, there is the significant improvement in the cleanliness of Ghana cities to come.
