Pep Guardiola has reacted to rumours of Haaland not being happy at the club. It is rumoured in Spain that the Mancity striker wants to leave Manchester for Real Madrid.

However, Pep strongly believes that the player is happy and wants to stay at the club.

I don’t know; you have to ask the media from Madrid.

Maybe they have more information than we have. We don’t have that feeling that he’s unhappy. He’s just back from two months injury maybe him not playing for that long period made him “unhappy”.

The Manchester City’s Don also shrugged of rumours of the striker not adapting well, that it is the player’s decision to make.

He was [unhappy] because he could not play for two months because he was injured, but maybe the media from Spain, and especially Madrid, have more information than us,” Guardiola told a news conference on Friday.

Pep Guardiola

We cannot say he didn’t adapt [on joining in summer 2022] and he was not fine since he arrived. But we cannot control what people say. What’s important is that he’s happy. And when he’s unhappy, he will make his decision.”

Pep added

Haaland who returned to action in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Burnley made his coach happy during his 20 minutes of play.

“Every transition, every pass, all the players looked [for] him. I know how important he is for us.”
