Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko secure crucial wins in the Ghana Premier League title race, intensifying competition as the season nears its end.

In a decisive weekend for the 2024–25 Ghana Premier League, both Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko achieved significant victories, bolstering their positions in the league standings as the season nears its conclusion.

At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Asante Kotoko delivered a commanding performance, defeating Dreams FC 4–1.

Kwame Poku led the charge with a brace, while Albert Amoah and Wisdom Bassey each added a goal, ensuring a comprehensive win for the Porcupine Warriors.

This victory propels Kotoko to 51 points, placing them just two points behind league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars, who sit at 53 points.

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak secured a hard-fought 1–0 away win against Berekum Chelsea. Maxwell Wayo’s second-half strike proved decisive, helping the Phobians rebound from their previous draw against Kotoko.

With this result, Hearts of Oak climb to sixth place with 49 points, maintaining their slim hopes in the title race.

In other notable fixtures, Accra Lions edged closer to safety with a thrilling 5–3 victory over Aduana Stars, marking the highest-scoring match of the season.

Vision FC, Karela United, and FC Samartex also recorded important wins, while Basake Holy Stars and Heart of Lions played out a goalless draw.

As the league enters its final stages, the competition intensifies, with multiple teams vying for the championship and others battling to avoid relegation.

The recent victories by Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have added further excitement to an already thrilling title race.
