PDP governorship aspirant in Oyo state, Hon Olayinka Segelu has thanked the entire world for coming out to celebrate with him on his installation as the Aare Akinrogun of Igbo-Elerinland.

ICT businessman and businessman based in Germany, Hon. Olayinka Oladimeji Segelu, who was recently crowned with the chieftaincy title of Aare Akinrogun of Igbo-Elerinland has thanked the kingmakers. The installation has received the approval of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, the Ige Olakulehin I and Olubadan of Ibadanland; this installation is a great achievement towards the reformation of this community’s traditional authority.

During his message of appreciation, Segelu, who is also one of the PDP governorship aspirants for the 2027 election, thanked people who played various roles in bringing him into office. He specifically appreciated the Olubadan-in-Council for their permission and the Igbo Elerin Council of Baales for their endorsement.

Among then newly installed Aare Akinrogun they thanked the traditional chiefs, the important of whom were the Baale Akin Babalola (Oniogunbode of Ogunbode), Baale Sunday Alamu (Alapatere of Apatere), Baal Olulere Adesumbo (Onigbaro of Igbaro) and Baale Ogunsakin Moses Olujinmi (Onidagbol He also appreciated the Taiwo Ariyibi Dynasty/ The Segelu family was also acknowledged.

Although she was not present in the installation ceremony because she was still abroad, Segelu appreciated this great turnout and support from the community. He specifically acknowledged his brothers’ leadership roles: Wale Segelu, Yomi Segelu, and Baale Tosin Segelu (Baale Eleruko).

The success recorded in the ceremony perhaps due to several community leaders and support staff which are composed of Brother Tunde, Brother Banjo, Brother Akin, Dare Eleruko, Former Ward 2 Councillor, Hon Olaniyi Idowu Oluseyi. They thanked Mrs. Olatunde, LadyKiki and Mayowa Oloyede for their administrative support.

Speaking further, Hon. Segelu expressed his readiness to take the lead to the initiative and sustain the project of advancement of the said land and the preservation of the existing order which is almost over 300 villages that make up the Lagelu Local Government area of Oyo State and is known as Igbo Elerinland.

His installation is therefore a leap to the traditional modality of governance in this expansive society as he sealed new frontiers of growth and development.
