The Ibom Air incident took a serious turn as the Federal Government, through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), met with passenger Comfort Emmanson, her legal counsel, and the flight crew involved.

The meeting, confirmed by NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, was convened to review the viral airport drama that began during the August 10 Uyo–Lagos flight.

The NCAA has mobilized several departments including Aviation Security, Operations, Licensing & Training Standards, Legal, and Consumer Protection to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

The drama reportedly erupted when Emmanson refused to power off her mobile phone prior to takeoff, a standard safety protocol.

Things escalated into a physical confrontation by the time the plane landed, raising questions about crew conduct, passenger rights, and aviation protocol.
