Actor, James Olarenwaju, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has revealed that the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, gifted him a brand-new car, luxurious gifts, and a chieftaincy title following the birth of his son.

The actor made the revelation in a Facebook post shared on Thursday, in which he expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler for what he described as a royal welcome, fatherly love, and the honour extended to him and his wife, fashion designer Abiodun Tokunbo, popularly known as Luminee.

“My deepest gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife. Baba, thank you for the royal welcome, fatherly love, and the confidence you gave my wife Afolashade Omiyinka and I,” Baba Ijesha wrote.

He added, “For the luxurious gifts you blessed us with, and the brand new car — I am truly humbled.

As a son of the soil. I’m also honoured by the chieftaincy title Baba Awada Konge Oduwa. Ile Ife, Ile Oodua! … ATI IJOYE PELU GBOGBO OMO ILE IFE THANK YOU SIR/MA.”

The development comes weeks after Baba Ijesha and Luminee continued to attract mixed reactions online following a post announcing the birth of their son, which went viral on June 15, 2026.

Before the announcement, Luminee had revealed the gender of her baby in a post shared on June 13, 2026, without identifying the child’s father.

She later shared additional posts, including maternity photographs featuring herself and Baba Ijesha, after which congratulatory messages poured in from fans and well-wishers.

Baba Ijesha was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment after being convicted of indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault of a minor.

He regained his freedom in November 2025 after serving his jail term.
