Veteran Nigerian entertainer and social activist, Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, widely known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has finally spoken out about the persistent speculations surrounding his sexuality.

Renowned for his unconventional lifestyle and bold self-expression, the maverick performer said he has always lived his life transparently, without concern for public opinion or criticism.

In an interview with KAATRUTH, Charly Boy described himself as someone with nothing to hide, stressing that he has never felt the need to conceal any aspect of who he is.

According to him, people who live secretive lives often do so out of fear, a feeling he says has never guided his choices.

The outspoken singer maintained that if the rumours about his sexuality were accurate, he would have openly acknowledged them without hesitation.

“If I was gay, I would be shouting it from the rooftops. I don’t hide myself. I commit my soul,” he said.

Explaining further, Charly Boy likened his lifestyle to being in a public marketplace where everything is visible.

He said he prides himself on being an open book and believes dishonesty stems from a lack of courage to live authentically.
