Controversial social commentator Geh Geh has criticised the Grammy Awards over what he described as the continued “disrespect” of Nigerian music star Davido.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Geh Geh claimed that the Grammy Awards no longer hold value for Davido, alleging that the organisers deliberately nominate the singer without any real intention of awarding him.

According to him, Davido is being used to promote and market the Grammy brand in Nigeria and across Africa.

Geh Geh recalled that he had previously advised Davido against submitting his songs for Grammy consideration, warning that the award body was only leveraging his popularity and influence on the African music scene.

He argued that despite repeated nominations, the Grammys are aware they will never hand the award to Davido, yet continue to include his name to maintain relevance and visibility in Africa.

He further suggested that Davido’s strong desire to win a Grammy has worked against him, stating that the singer is not properly valued by the award organisers.

Geh Geh also insinuated that rival artist Wizkid would be pleased with the situation, though he did not elaborate further.

He said in part …

“In 2026, you allow Grammy dey rubbish you. Them don rubbish you, you no get value again.

I remember when I made a video to advice Davido make e no dey submit him songs to Grammy.

These people are using you to promote their award in Nigeria and Africa.

But him just dey shout say ‘I want to win Grammy’ go and win Grammy na.

Wizkid go dey happy now. This life wey we dey live eh, know where you stand for people life.

You fit dey think say you be something for person life, make that person no rate you at all.

Na that thing na him Grammy dey do Davido.

Grammy know say dey can never give Davido that award but because them still need am to promote and market their award for Nigeria and Africa, na the only reason dey dey nominate Davido”
