After the elimination of Senegal and Morocco, Nigeria is now the chosen favourite to win the tournament. The quarterfinal round of games is set to start on Friday. Nigeria to face Angola to fight for a spot in the semi-finals.

The three-time Champion is now the supercomputer favourite to lift the AFCON title with a 28.8% chance.

The Nigerian team got to the round of 16 stage without conceding after their 1-1 opening match against Equatorial Guinea.

The Leis Aigles of Mali is the supercomputer’s second favourite to lift the title after they defeated Burkina Faso to get to the last 4.

The host nation sits at third spot with a 13.5% winning chance followed by DR Congo and Cape Verde as fourth and fifth favourites with winning chances of 9.4% and 8.8%, respectively.

Having defeated Morocco in the last 16, South Africa came sixth with 8.7% winning chance.

In the first pot, the Nigeria versus Angola game will face off with the winner between Cape Verde and South Africa. In the other pot, the winners from Mali and Ivory Coast will face the winners from the DR Congo and Guinea games.
