Bandits Attack Ejiba Community In Kogi, Kidnap Pastor, Wife, Others During Church Service
Adegboyega Oguns, who was present at the church, said congregants fled in panic as the attackers struck.
Oguns reported that the church pastor, popularly known as Orlando, his wife, and several other individuals were abducted during the raid.
“It’s a new Cherubim and Seraphim church.
The pastor popularly called Orlando and wife with some others have been kidnapped,” he wrote on Egbe Mekun Parrot platform on Facebook.
Ejiba, a town in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, came under attack by armed bandits on Sunday morning, local sources have confirmed.
Eyewitnesses told Egbe Mekun Platform, a community news outlet, that the assault occurred during a church service at a new Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
Bacha $490m loot probe: EFCC seizes ex-AGF Malami’s passport
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized the international passport of former Attorney‑General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN.
A credible source in the EFCC said on Sunday that the seizure was part of an ongoing investigation into the whereabouts of an alleged $490 million Abacha loot secured through a Mutual Legal Assistance (MLAT) request.
The source said that Malami was barred from leaving Nigeria for the next month.
According to the source, one of the conditions for his release on Saturday was that he should report daily to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for further interrogations.
”The former minister may not travel out of the country except with mutual agreement with the EFCC or a High Court order.”

Insecurity: Southern Kaduna Miyetti Allah leaders pledge to work with security agencies
Leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the Southern parts of Kaduna State have pledged to work with security agencies to tackle insecurity in the zone.
The leaders made the pledge at a meeting MACBAN convened on Sunday in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a Local Government Area.
Speaking at the meeting, Alhaji Mato Yahaya, Southern Kaduna Zonal Chairman of MACBAN, stated that it had become imperative for the group to seek a way out of the security challenges bedeviling the area

2027: Group urges NASS to fast-track amendment of key electoral bills
MAP Development Initiative (MAPDI), a non‑governmental organisation, has appealed to the National Assembly to expedite action on key electoral‑reform bills before it.
The group’s executive director, Mayowa Adeniran, made the appeal in a statement to commemorate the National Day of Action in Youth‑Led Electoral Reforms on Sunday in Osogbo.
Adeniran said that youth organisations under the Youth Political Participation (YPP) Electoral Reform Consortium across the country have consistently prioritised three reforms that are now before lawmakers.
He said that one of the reforms is for the National Assembly to speedily look into the amendment of Sections 153 and 154 of the Constitution to ensure a transparent, merit‑based process for appointing the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Barau urges security agencies to prevent bandits’ incursion into two Kano LGAs
The deputy president of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has called on security agencies to go after the marauding bandits who have been terrorising some villages in Tsanyawa and Shanono LGAs of Kano State.
Reacting to the bandits’ attack in Yankamaye village in Tsanyawa LGA on Saturday night, Senator Barau appealed to the security agencies to double their efforts and take the fight to the criminal elements who are from neighbouring states.
Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, stated that the incursion of criminal elements into the two LGAs must stop forthwith.

Army rescues 12 abducted teenage girls in Borno
Nigerian Army troops have rescued 12 teenage girls abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Mussa District of Askira-Uba Local Government Area, Borno State.
The victims, aged between 15 and 20, were kidnapped on November 23 while harvesting crops on their family farmlands.
A source at the Army Headquarters told The Nation late Saturday night that the girls were rescued on Saturday, following “a swift, intelligence-led operation” by troops of Operation HADIN KAI in the southern Borno axis.
The source revealed the names of the girls as: Fatima Shaibu, age 17; Fatima Umaru, age 15; Hauwa Abubakar, age 18); Saliha Muhammed, age 15; Sadiya Umaru, age 17; Amira Babel, age 15; Zara Adamu age 17; Nana Shaibu age 15; Zainab Musa, age 18; Zainab Muhammed, age 17; Jamila Saidu, age 15; and Hauwa Hamidu, age 17.
According to the source, the rescued girls have been evacuated to a secure military facility where they are receiving comprehensive medical care, psychological support and debriefing.
